The Secretary
Mi Sol Community of Owners Torrevieja
8th November 1999.
RE The Minutes of 1999 Annual General Meeting.
Dear Sir.
I acknowledge receipt of the minutes for the Annual General Meeting 1999 for Mi Sol Park, for which I thank you.
It is of some concern to me that Point 5. In the minutes does not reflect what was agreed upon at the AGM In fact it reports an occurrence precisely the opposite of what was voted on if my memory serves me correct.
I have discussed these minutes with other members of our community just to confirm that I had my facts right. They have all agreed with me that the community was presented with two options by the president.
The first option was a quote by a private contractor of 6.300,000 PTAs to replace the existing water pipe work on Mi Sol. This would be a purely replacement operation, and water would continue to be supplied by the community to homes at the current 180ptas per m3.
The second option was a quote by Aquagest of 9.600,000 PTAs, to install a metered water supply to each individual consumer on site. This system would then be adopted by Aguagest, and after the initial expense, consumers would have individual contracts for water and would enjoy a reduced charge per m3 and a standing charge.
After much debate the vote was in favour of the second option presented to the meeting Aguagest, Not the first.
It was however, if I recall correctly, agreed that the president and committee should have sanction to explore all possibilities to get the best deal for our community, with regard to water supply adopted and maintained by the water company.
If in the meantime, the Aguagest quote has emerged as not being as favourable as presented at the AGM, the committee has the mandate to search for a better deal. No problem there.
But the minutes of an AGM should accurately reflect the proceeding of that meeting. Not decisions made at a later date.
In the interest of good relations and communication. I respectfully urge you to issue a correction to these minutes at your earliest opportunity, and if it has now emerged that the Aguagest option is not the best for our community. An explanation of the committee’s decision to explore other possibilities.
Yours truly,
Simon Edgington 173.
