A committee meeting was called today so that the president could announce that the sewage pump has broken down with the result that sewage was not being pumped away from the park,

He has been in touch with the company who supplied the pump last year and requested approval to install a heavier duty pump at a cost of 3663.59€ plus IVA.

It was noted that a pump had been installed on the 10thMay 2003 at a cost of 784.04€. No guarantee can be provided for pump failure due to breakage from foreign objects. Only electrical failure.

The committee asked if the original pump was repairable and could be kept as a stand by.

This purchase was approved.

During the meeting the committee was told that Escudero had been informed and was making arrangements to repair the pump. This put the meeting in a difficult situation. Escudero has no right to assume to take actions on behalf of the community without approval from the elected committee. The committee is responsible for matters on MI Sol and thinking some third party may have done it without authority is no defense against inaction.

Pepe Simon and Derrek visited the pump house. There did not appear to be any evidence of flooding, but the pump had been removed.

Decision was made to replace it with the recommended replacement.

Opportunity was taken to discuss Javier of the Bar. At the April Monthly meeting it was agreed that our lawyer should contact Javier and give him 7 days to settle his account with us.

Javier confirmed that he had been contacted by the Lawyer and was telling customers in the bar that he would be settling his account by Monday 12 April.

As This has not been the case. The committee now has the responsibility to prevent the situation were the debt be allowed to increase further. There exists a party who would like to take on the bar, and spend some money on improvements which the committee are keen to accommodate.

Out of respect to the arrangement with Javier, he had to be given the opportunity to make good his commitments towards his rental contract. As he clearly seems to be unwilling or unable to do this, steps will now be taken to remove him from the Bar as quickly as possible.
