AUGUST COMMITEE MEETING
Reporter Neill Stacey
Committee meeting of Mi Sol Park on Sat August 5th 2000.
Committee members present were :- Pepe El president,Ron,Sheila Shaw, John Mountford, Jean Blair, and a Spanish chap whose name I don't know.
1. There were five observers sitting in at the meeting. Pepe said that if anyone wanted to raise any subject at the AGM it would be helpful if they would put it writing and deliver it to the office ASAP.
2. Pepe indicated there was a letter from the Committee which would be distributed to all members on Mi Sol after the letter had been delivered to those members living in England.
3. Pepe produced form for proxy voting at the AGM, and explained that under the new law of " horizontal building" introduced on 6/5/99 members who were in debt to the community at the time of the AGM were allowed to speak at the AGM but had no voting rights. It was generally agreed that people in arrears with water and electric of less than 3 months were not classed as in debt.
4. A discussion ensued about people paying their communidad by instalments. It was agreed that it would be helpful if all fees were paid by October 1st. But no firm commitment to this idea was put forward. Pepe explained that the total income from communidad was 14 million PTAs. The amount collected so far was 11 million PTA's.
5. Lengthy discussion was held about acquiring an interpreter for the AGM. It was agreed Pepe would approach suitable candidates
6. Sheila asks what the state of play is regarding various court cases, regarding Teo - Antonio etc.. Apparently Harrera? has been ordered to pay money through the court for debts of water, and electricity, but has failed to so as yet. John Mountford suggests "can't we just cut him off then?"
7. Discussion about Ricky the builder concerning the parking of vans, cars, trailers, and skips outside his property, including the parking of a large camper van by Jim Speed who is no longer a Mi Sol resident. These vehicles form a real danger of a serious accident occurring at a very narrow part of the road system.. Suggestions of a one way system by Jean Blair seem to be the committees only solution, no mention of actually doing anything about the problem.
8, Jean Blair produces a letter bearing several signatures, complaining about sewerage water being spread around the gardens and circles by the gardener, she indicated that some people were planning on complaining to the Town Hall. Pepe replies it is being done save money, a question was raised about the capability of the sewerage pump to cope with it's job. Pepe replies the pump is adequate for the job and working properly, there is also a spare pump available. Complaints had been made about toilet paper around the walls of certain properties from this activity of spreading sewerage water. Pepe finally agrees to call a halt to this activity. ( the Gardner is still continuing to spread the sewerage water, he is filling the tank now as I write this 19.12hrs 7/8/200)
9. A discussion was held about the sound system for the AGM. It was suggested that 'Jim Disco' be approached to set up Mi Sol Bars own equipment. An observer intervened at this stage, pointing out that the equipment was already set up and working properly.
10. A discussion was then held about the leaking swimming pool. Sheila said the pool was losing 3 thousand litres of water a day, Jean Blair said it was more likely to be 16 thousand litres of water. The pool is to be closed and emptied for repair in September.
