2009-07-02-Committee Meeting

Committee Meeting - 2nd July 2009

Present: Mo Taunton, P. Hopkins, S. Shaw, J Braim, L Jiminéz
Absent: P. Olive, C. McCarthy, T Connolly, L Foley, J Titterton
Bank Balance: €37,752.06

1.         Lucas has finished working as gardener on the park for reasons that were discussed at the last committee meeting. He will continue to maintain the pool. The automatic chlorine dispenser is on order, when installed it will not be necessary for Lucas to administer the chemicals. The long-term benefits are the chemical levels in the pool will always be correct, thus not jeopardising the insurance cover, and over the year it will be cheaper. We are also having a timer fitted to the pump system to ensure the pump kicks in when required.

2.         Owner Joan McClarty has requested the possibility of holding a screening session in the office for blood pressure and blood sugar tests. She has stated that this will only be for the Brits. Because Joan is being selective, the committee decided against this request. If she decides that the sessions will be open to all residents the committee will agree.

3.         At last month's open forum an owner requested the possibility of having a large notice indicating that this is Mi-Sol Park. Often visitors have difficulty in finding us. Committee member L Jiminéz suggested contacting the Town Hall to see if they will erect a sign opposite the park. P Hopkins will fill in the necessary paperwork.

4.         It was agreed unanimously to give Tony Evans credit against his lock up fee in response to the repair work he has carried out.

5.         A request has been received with respect to the possibility of long-term rental of 401 Conway. This plot is for sale by Mi-Sol and it was agreed to continue with the sale. Nothing can happen with regards to this plot legally until September 2009.

6.         A committee member expressed concern that the pool card system was not working as she had received several complaints with respect to non-payers and outsiders swimming in the pool. She proposed that we charge non-payers of community fees €3 to swim in the pool. This was voted against unanimously. The lifeguard should be checking the list of owners entitled to a pool card, he has been told to collect pool cards and return them when the swimmers have finished.

Meeting closed 3.30pm
